HINDUSTANI VOCAL
Guru Ms. Sunita Kapur has a Sangeet Visharad (Masters in Indian Classical music) from Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Bombay, India. She has further trained in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music under the guidance of Gurus Pundit Govind Prasad Jaipurwale, Smt. Shashikala Kaikini and Pundit Sudhindra Bhaumik. She sings and teaches variety of styles such as Indian Classical, Ghazals, Bhajans, Folk and Bollywood. She has been the female lead singer for stage in Bollywood, performing in thousands of live concerts worldwide with Sonu Nigam, Anu Malik, Sudesh Bhosale, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Kalyanji Anandji, Abhijeet, Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Vinod Rathod and many more. She has sung numerous jingles in different languages; She has done theater, television,radio and lent her voice to many leading record labels like Zee Music, Tips, Venus, Weston, Nuff Music U.K, T-Series, Vishwa etc.
Prashasti Aurora has trained in Hindustani Classical Vocal under the guidance of her mother Sunita Kapur for over a decade and a half. She has to her credit over many hundreds of live performances including Hindustani Classical Vocal, Bollywood, Bhajan, Punjabi, Sufi and Western Vocal including Popular, Jazz, Country etc. styles of singing. She is an Alumni of Bergen County Academies – AVAPA (vocal ) and plays the piano fluidly. Prashasti’s passion for music had her preside over Mission Music, a club which organized concerts to raise funds for underprivileged schools helping them to acquire funds to improve their Music programs. Currently Prashasti continues to pursue music by doing professional live shows, recording, training, and teaching
Guru Ms. Rita Chatterjee graduated in Fine arts she had completed her Prabhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti (Allhabad) and then continued her training under the auspices of Guru Shree Omprakash Misra (Disciple of Pandit Birju Maharaj – Lucknow Gharana) and then under Srimati Shantosh Vyas (Disciple of Guru Kundan Lalji Gangani – Jaipur gharana).
After receiving Talim in both Lucknow and Jaipur gharana, she was appointed as an associate lecturer Rajeswari Kala Sangam (Apeejay College, Jullandhar) and as a primary instructor for Dayanand School. Ms. Rita Chatterjee is known for her creative, disciplinary, and dedicated style of teaching kathak . She continues to teach kathak and folk styles of Indian Dance in NJ/NY
